My Pedagogical Philosophy
The teaching profession has many different and equally important aspects involved in it that teachers must understand and demonstrate. It is the teachers responsibility to ensure that all students are provided with the opportunities to achieve their potential by ensuring that all students are engaged in the learning and challenged and extended to the appropriate level.
Teaching is about helping students achieve their full potential through providing a safe and engaging learning environment created and maintained by developing positive and constructive relationships. Teaching involves designing learning sequences that are differentiated in a way that addresses the differing learning needs of the diverse learners in the class. This can be achieved through creating learning sequences and experiences that include or offer a choice in topic, product or difficulty that lend themselves to different learning styles and multiple intelligences.
Incorporating ICT into the classroom is an integral part of teaching in the 21st century and essential for students to become influential and productive members of our modern society. These technologies are ever changing and evolving and need to be used effectively and appropriately in the classroom.
The teaching profession is also evolving and changing and it is imperative that educators are continually participating in professional development to further develop their skills and knowledge and reflecting on their own practice to continue to improve their performance as a teacher.
