Investigations and Inquiry Based Activties
Inquiry based learning and practical activities are a core component of teaching and learning science. These activities can vary in the amount of structure and scaffolding depending on the level of the students and the learning objectives trying to be achieved. Below are some examples of practical activities I have designed for a variety of classes.
1 - A bus stop style investigation activity that allows students to explore the concepts they have learned and apply them to the physical world.
2 - An extended experimental design task that introduces the students to consumer science and allows them to apply the scientific method.
3 - An extended investigation SAC for Unit 2 Chemistry learning outcome 1 involving field work, lab work and a written component.
